Atiba University, Oyo has entered into collaboration with Nasarawa State University, Keffi, marking a milestone in advancing academic excellence, research, innovation and institutional development in the education sector.

The ceremony, held at the Conference Room of the Vice Chancellor, Nasarawa State University, during the week long Silver Jubilee Celebration and the 8th Combined Convocation of the university, brought together principal officers, senior academics and stakeholders from both institutions in a shared commitment to fostering mutually beneficial partnerships aimed at strengthening teaching, research and community service.

Established in 2017 by Atiba University Educational Foundation led by James Ojebode, the university is committed to providing education rooted in knowledge, character and self-reliance; while Nasarawa State University—founded in 2001 by Dr Abdullahi Adamu, Turakin Keffi, former governor of Nasarawa State — is a leading public institution dedicated to expanding access to higher education and promoting academic advancement in Nigeria.

The agreement of collaboration is designed to promote:

Joint academic and research programmes, staff and student exchange initiatives, development of postgraduate and professional programmes, collaborative grant applications and publications, capacity building and institutional strengthening, and innovation-driven partnerships aligned with national development goals.

The collaboration aligns with the broader vision of Nasarawa State University, which has emphasised partnerships as a key strategy for building innovation ecosystems and driving economic growth through research and knowledge exchange.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of Atiba University, Prof. Sunday Okeniyi, highlighted the importance of inter-university collaboration in addressing contemporary educational challenges and enhancing global competitiveness.

He noted that the partnership would open new frontiers for academic excellence and practical knowledge exchange.

The Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Prof. Sa’adatu Liman, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to strategic partnerships, describing the agreement as a vital step toward strengthening academic development and expanding opportunities for students and faculty members.

Both leaders said the collaboration would facilitate cross-fertilisation of ideas, promote interdisciplinary research and contribute to national and global development.
