For the point-and-tar global rights crusades, it’s as odd as they come!  First, the email’s heading: Avaaz vs Trump!

Was that Trump, really? Or was it a typo – that meant Russia’s Putin, or North Korea’s Kim Jon Un, Hungary’s Viktor Orban or even the embattled Iran mullahs: the normal grist for western lobbies’ rights campaigns – and fairly so?  Naaa!

The opening lines couldn’t have been clearer: “… Trump and his allies are now dropping bombs on Iran, and the world has grown even more volatile.”  Then, the clincher: “Avaaz won’t back down”!

“Trump is cracking down on his opponents, and he has the full weight of the US behind him,” the email, from the Avaaz CEO, courting anti-Trump donors, warned.  “We’ve campaigned hard against his vicious brand of politics for a decade.  We know he holds a grudge – and we’re vulnerable.”

Well, Avaaz, an American rights brand hugging Iran, is a classic case of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”!

Still, beyond the common sense of unite or be crushed, the Avaaz campaign also shows how Trump’s SS Global Outlawry is drifting far – too far – away from America’s traditional rights beacon.  Indeed, the farther away Trump sails, on his well-curated boiling oceans of the globe, the more the beacon’s warning lights twinkle in vain!  The prodigal is on his own, despite his loud MAGA party!

To be sure, much of America’s pretence to global fairness is sheer hypocrisy, fated to blow up one day.  America is like any other empire that takes no prisoners!

Yet, Trump and the so-called American ideals – on which Avaaz’s crusades for human rights are hinged – are no different from the Jesus-Judas parallel.  Christ, by divine fate, was to die by the cross – and rise after.  But Iscariot would be the eternal fall guy!

So, as Trump destroys others abroad, he destroys himself too at home.  He’s too heady to realize it or even to care.  His MAGA White racists are too raucous to think or ponder.  Both are far too gone.

But when the chips are down, the historic verdict would be dire and harsh: America’s Trump would be the Hitler reincarnation that smashed the rule-based global order put in place to cancel the havoc of the terrible original.

The Avaaz testimonies would ensure Trump doesn’t avert that ugly – but fitting – comeuppance!
