A Nigerian aviation and environmental educationist, Dr. Onifade Eedris, has pledged to deepen his commitment to the growth and development of Africa’s aviation industry following his recognition among the continent’s most influential young leaders.
Dr. Eedris made the pledge after he was honoured at the 2026 Forty Under 40 Africa Awards held in Ghana, where he was listed among outstanding young professionals making a significant impact across Africa.
The Director of Studies at the Universal School of Aviation was acknowledged for his excellence and leadership in aviation education, emerging as one of the distinguished honourees under the age of 40.

The awards platform, powered by Xodus Communications Limited, celebrates dynamic young professionals who are shaping Africa’s economic and social landscape through innovation, leadership, and enterprise.
The ceremony, held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, brought together high-performing leaders from more than 20 African countries across sectors, including aviation, agribusiness, academia, oil and gas, media, fashion, and law.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Eedris expressed appreciation for the continental acknowledgement, stating that the honour would further motivate him to intensify his contributions to capacity building and institutional growth within Africa’s aviation sector.
Founder of the awards scheme, Richard Abbey Jnr, said the initiative has, over the years, built a pan-African ecosystem of excellence by recognising young leaders who are redefining success across industries.
He added that the awards programme has expanded to other global locations, reinforcing its mission of promoting African excellence on the world stage.
