A Political group under the “Yegovodu - Let's Do It Again” movement has called for the continuity of what it described as “proven leadership” in Badagry, citing ongoing development efforts at both the federal and state levels.
The position was presented by the President of the movement, Olufemi Iroko, who delivered the group's message while addressing leaders, party members, and residents at a press conference on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in Badagry.
Iroko emphasised that “sustainable progress is best achieved through the continuity of proven leadership,” framing the message as both a reflection on past achievements and a call for future political decisions.
The group highlighted the performance of Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan at the federal level, stating that his representation has gone beyond occupying office to delivering “measurable outcomes.”

According to the statement, he has sponsored and influenced key legislative efforts, including support for institutions such as the Badagry University of Technology and the Nigerian French Language Village.
It added that he raised motions addressing issues affecting constituents, including alleged extortion on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, while also facilitating interventions such as food relief for over 5,000 households, support for 1,200 flood victims, installation of 321 solar street lights, and empowerment programmes for farmers and youths.
In the education and social sectors, the statement cited classroom construction and renovation, provision of learning materials, scholarships, and welfare support for women and persons living with disabilities.
At the state level, the group also commended Bonu Solomon, describing his work as closely aligned with the needs of the people. It listed bursaries and scholarships, job placements, youth empowerment initiatives, and NYSC support schemes among his contributions.
Infrastructure interventions attributed to him include electrification projects, transformer installations, road rehabilitation along the Gbaji-Seme and Owode-Apa axis, and facilitation of BRT access to improve mobility. Ongoing projects such as the Ajido Youth Centre and school infrastructure development were also noted.
The group acknowledged the right of individuals to contest elections but posed what it described as a critical choice: “Do we abandon leadership that is delivering real results… or do we reinforce it?”
Referencing remarks made at the APC National Convention 2026, the statement noted that Tajudeen Abbas had called for the re-election of “committed and performing” lawmakers to ensure legislative stability. It quoted him as warning that frequent replacement of legislators leads to loss of institutional memory and increased governance costs.
The movement argued that Badagry is at a critical point where “its future is too important for trial, error and uncertainty,” stressing the need for stability, consistency, and experienced leadership.
It concluded with a call for support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside the re-election of the two lawmakers, stating: “Let's do it again—because it is working… because the results are visible… and because Badagry must keep moving forward.”
