The Baptist Academy Old Students Association (BAOSA) has stressed its resolve to not only to motivate students to strive relentlessly for academic excellence and personal distinction, but ensure short and long-term infrastructural development of its alma mater.
The association also reiterated its commitment to academic excellence, noting that at the last Valedictory Service and Prize Giving event, it spent N2.9 million to celebrate leadership, conduct, creativity and special talents among students.

It held its annual convention tagged: “2026 BAOSA National Convention” in Obanikoro, Lagos. It had the theme: “Deepening Our Legacy, Advancing Our Future.”
BAOSA President, Mr Olumide Ajomale described the convention as the association’s foremost annual assembly, which is a time to take stock, to deliberate, and to strengthen the ties that make BAOSA a family.
He said: “The past twelve months have been eventful. We celebrated the 170th anniversary of our alma mater in grand style, launched the BAOSA Infrastructure Development Fund and the Integrated Master Plan, inaugurated the BAOSA Order of Excellence, and deepened our engagement with our regions and class sets. Our audited accounts reflect prudent stewardship, and the work of the B-IDC has set a solid foundation for the future.”
The National Executive Council (NEC) of the association noted that the BAOSA Infrastructure Development Commission (B-IDC), chaired by Dr Alex Okoh of the 1977 set and established in October last year, would provide structured leadership for the short and long-term infrastructural development of the school.
Regarding ongoing infrastructural interventions, it said: “Separate from the anniversary projects, BAOSA executed several general maintenance and utility improvements as part of its routine developmental mandate. These include, rehabilitation of sanitation facilities and drainage works, upgrades to the water supply system.

“Enhancements to the school’s perimeter, including the creation of a secure and direct access link between the main school compound and the lawn tennis court, complemented by a seethrough fence that improves visibility between both areas while adding aesthetic value to the school environment.

“Rehabilitation of the Sports Field remains a key priority for the National Executive Council. Although the Bariga Local Council Development Area had previously expressed interest in partnering with the association on the project, the arrangement could not be finalised. The NEC has since initiated discussions with an alumnus regarding support for the facility’s development, and these conversations are currently progressing toward advancing the initiative.”
The association in a bid for more progress, has constituted 10 strategic committees with the National Executive Council (NEC) serving as the coordinating nucleus, with each committee mandated to advance the vision of a more dynamic and purpose-driven association.
The Principal of Baptist Academy, Mr Solomon Ajagunmo hailed BAOSA for being one of the enduring pillars upon which the stability of the school rests. He said the association has continued to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to the growth and sustainability of the school.
“Through infrastructural interventions, financial support, advisory roles and collaborative initiatives, the association has reinforced its position as a dependable partner in progress. These contributions have not only enhanced our physical environment but have also strengthened morale within the school community,” he said.
