The Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle Sports, Yenagoa, Ebi Ezekiel Egbe, has thrown his weight behind Chief Rumson  Baribote as the right candidate to lead Bayelsa United Football Club, urging Governor Douye Diri and Sports Commissioner Hon. Daniel Igali to give the matter their most thoughtful consideration.

Egbe described Baribote as a man deeply rooted in the workings of the Nigeria Premier Football League, whose knowledge, experience and proven understanding of the system position him as the ideal choice to drag the club out of its current crisis.

The appeal is particularly urgent given that Bayelsa United are currently deep in the NPFL relegation zone, a situation Egbe believes is partly rooted in a recurring pattern of short-sighted decision-making in the state's football administration.

"At a time when strategic leadership is critical to the growth of our football ecosystem, we must be deliberate about the choices we make," he wrote. "Bayelsa United deserves experienced, competent leadership that understands the realities of the Nigerian football landscape."

"The future of our football depends on informed decisions, not sentiments," he added.
