The Nongov Community in Makurdi has declared support for Dr Iorwakwagh Apera’s bid to contest for the Makurdi/Guma House of Representatives.

The decision was reached at the residence of Chief Ayôôsu Bem,  in Makurdi where the four Nongov clans comprising Saghev, Nzorov, Kaambe and Abinsi converge to give their blessings to their son.

Apera, a seasoned development expert, who has delivered several large scale national and international sustainable community social projects, promised effective representation to the people of the constituency, if elected into the House in next year’s elections.

He also promised a practical solution of representation, economic empowerment for the youth and women, security and stability as well as infrastructural development.

President of Nongov Community, Benjamin Iwan called on his people to embrace unity and political inclusiveness.

He cautioned against politics of conflict and division expressing belief that the candidature Dr Apera for House of Representatives is a bridge to bring Nongov people together for a common cause.

Speakers from the Nongov clans as well as some elders commended Apera for his decision to contest, a move they described as timely and needful.

They applauded the candidature of Apera as the hope of the Nongov, who according to them, even as a major bloc and a key stakeholder in the composition of the Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency, has not had the opportunity of being elected to represent their people.
