Actress Bisola Badmus has defended her colleague, Biola Bayo, following backlash over Biola's interview with Baba Ijesha.

In a show of support, Bisola shared a clip of them on a movie set, praising Biola's strength and kindness, and advising her to remain calm as "everything is under control."

“Your kindness and strength are what make you unique and stand out, my darling… Please be calm, everything is under control. @biolabayo1”, she wrote.

The controversy surrounds Baba Ijesha's comments in the interview, where he addressed rape allegations and spoke about his relationship with Iyabo Ojo.

Some have criticised both Baba Ijesha and Biola Bayo on social media, prompting Biola to remove the video from YouTube and Instagram.

Biola has since apologised, releasing a video statement where she expressed regret and assured that she doesn't and will never support a rapist.

She tendered an apology to Iyabo Ojo and Nigerians, clarifying her position on the matter.
