Edo State Commissioner for Power, Paul Usenbo, has been conferred with Blue Silk rank by Association of Legislative Drafters and Advocacy Practitioners.

Others conferred with the Blue Silk were Sir Sam Aiboni, Titilayo Orebiyi, Muhammed Baffa, Lawal Oluwafemi, Adebayo Akinade, Dr. Onadeko Edwards, Dr. Obraori Adeila, Olorungemi Bamidele, Senibo Jaja, Yahaya Danzaria, Mrs. Chinelo Emeghara, and Kennedy Thompson, a Canada based Nigerian lawyer.

President of Nigeria Law Society, Dahiru Aliyu, lauded the body for pioneering a platform that acknowledged contributions of non-litigation lawyers.

He said the legal profession must continue to evolve in recognising diverse areas of specialisation critical to national development.

President of Commonwealth Association of Legislative Counsel, Dr. Johnson Okello, called for reforms to strengthen parliamentary processes in Commonwealth nations.

A book The Need for Digital and E-Parliament Infrastructure in Nigeria: Essays in Honour of Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker, House of Representatives, National Assembly, Nigeria,” was presented to Usenbo, in recognition of his contributions to governance and public service.

Usenbo pledged to uphold highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and service in their respective fields.

The ALDRAP Blue Silk initiative broadened the scope of recognition in Nigeria’s legal profession, ensuring that excellence in legislative drafting, policy advisory, and academic contributions receive its deserved spotlight with traditional litigation practice.
