Borno State immediate past Commissioner for Works Mustapha Gubio has picked his governorship nomination form ahead of the 2027 general elections.

 The move by the commissioner signalled that the State All Progressives Congress (APC) may not be adopting the consensus option of selecting the governorship candidate but the primary election.

 The Nation gathered that Gubio, an engineer, has presented his aspiration to Governor Babagan Umara Zulum at the Government House in company of the Chief Whip of the Senate, Mohammed Tahir Monguno.

 There are also speculations that more than 20 aspirants will be obtaining their expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of next year’s election.
