Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority has secured stakeholder backing for transformation of Ketu Lay-by (Demurin bound) into a modern bus terminal, to ease congestion and improve commuter experience along the Ketu corridor.
Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Transportation, Olawale Musa, said the pact was reached at a meeting with leaders of Agboyi-Ketu, where plans for the Quality Bus Corridor Package 1 were finalised.
Musa, represented by Director of Transport Policy and Coordination, Aderounmu Agbomeji, said the terminal on Ketu–Alapere–Akanimodo corridor would address traffic snarls and create a more organised and safer space.

According to him, a formal agreement will be signed to ensure adherence to operational guidelines, including relocation of traders from road setbacks to market stalls to improve safety and traffic flow.
He added non-regulated transport operators would operate within approved loading and off-loading zones to prevent a recurrence of gridlock.
“The Ketu Modern Bus Terminal forms part of the state’s strategic transport master plan aimed at delivering an integrated, multimodal system that connects road, rail and water transportation,” he said.
Project Manager, Femi Fayombo, said contractors are set to mobilise to site, noting the terminal is an expansion of the initial project prioritised by the state to boost transport efficiency and enhance residents’ quality of life.
