Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has pulled out of the squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Iran and Jordan after sustaining a back injury.

The team confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday, wishing the centre-back a quick recovery. As a result, Bassey will miss both matches while the squad continues its preparations in Turkey.

The Super Eagles camp in Antalya now has 21 players. The number increased after six more players joined on Wednesday morning, following an initial group that arrived on Tuesday.

Among the early arrivals were Fisayo Bashiru, Alex Iwobi, Paul Onuachu, Philip Otele, Yira Sor and Emmanuel Oluwasegun. Others already in camp include Semi Ajayi, Moses Simon, Francis Uzoho, Bruno Onyemaechi and Bright Osayi-Samuel.

Also present are Frank Onyeka, Adebayo Adeleye, Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke. The rest of the squad includes Raphael Onyedika, Igoh Ogbu, Maduka Okoye, Samuel Chukwueze and Zaidu Sanusi.

Originally scheduled to take place in Amman, the fixtures were relocated to Antalya due to security concerns in the Middle East. Nigeria will now face Iran on Friday before playing Jordan on March 31.
