Actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has revealed she no longer attends church services in person because frequent media attention makes it difficult for her to worship without distraction.

In a video shared on her Snapchat on Sunday, Akindele was seen preparing breakfast for her children and getting them ready for church while explaining her absence from physical services.

She stated that she now joins services online, noting that cameras and photographers often focus on her whenever she attends in person.

“Do not ask if I am going to church. I am not going to church. Anytime I go to church, it is me that they take picture of. I will join online,” she said.

Akindele, who worships with the Celestial Church of Christ, indicated that the constant attention from media teams and congregants interferes with her worship experience.
