Singer Habeeb ‘Portable’ Okikiola has rejected his loss to comedian Carter Efe at Chaos in the Ring 4, alleging the bout was manipulated and marred by bias.
Speaking during an Instagram Live session after the fight, Portable claimed he was unfairly denied victory, arguing that his opponent’s height and reach gave him an undue advantage.
He maintained that all his punches should have been counted regardless of where they landed, accusing officials of overlooking his offensive efforts while allowing Efe to clinch.
Portable also demanded N200 million in streaming revenue from the organisers, warning of consequences if the amount is not paid.
“I was robbed. Carter Efe was not professional enough. He was strangling with his long hands and height. I threw him many punches, why didn’t you people count them? Any blow that I threw to him ought to count even if it meets him on the shoulder or hand. And to the organisers, I want my stream money amounting to about N200 million. Just give me my money before I cause trouble,” he said.
He repeatedly accused them of cheating and lashed out at spectators for not acknowledging his punches.
“They did ojoro for me. All of you are mad. Carter Efe was just holding my neck. I was punching him too but you people are not talking about that. They knew he is tall and has long hands but still put him in a boxing match with me.”
Carter Efe won the fight 27–30 on all three judges’ scorecards early Saturday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island.
The victory ended Portable’s reign as celebrity boxing champion after previous wins over Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.
Before the bout, Portable had boasted he would use Efe to secure a third belt.
Efe countered that one punch would end the fight. In the ring, Efe controlled the pace across three rounds, using his reach to land cleaner shots while Portable threw wide punches and initiated frequent clinches.
Portable later said the loss was insignificant compared to his personal life, noting his wife recently gave birth to a baby boy.
He stated that a child cannot be bought like a belt and that he valued his newborn more than the title.
“You can only buy a belt with money, but a child cannot be bought. You people cheated. They can’t pay the money amounting to the sum of N23 billion. I thought I was going to dance with my belt but I ended up with my new baby.
“My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I value that more than a belt. You can buy the belt but not my child", he said.
Carter Efe is now the new celebrity boxing champion.
