The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said the Federal Government collected N2.96trillion Company Income Tax (CIT) in the third quarter of 2025 (Q3 2025).

The collections soared from the N2.78trillion of the preceding quarter, indicating 6.55 per cent rise, according to the CIT Q3 2025 report the bureau, issued on Wednesday.

In the period under review, NBS said domestic CIT received was ₦1.21 trillion, while Foreign CIT Payment was ₦1.75 trillion in Q3 2025.

The report said, "Company Income Tax (CIT) for Q3 2025 stood at ₦2.96 trillion, showing an increase of 6.55% on a quarter-on-quarter basis from ₦2.78 trillion in Q2 2025. The domestic CIT received was ₦1.21 trillion, while Foreign CIT Payment was ₦1.75 trillion in Q3 2025."

In its breakdown, NBS said N35.197.43billion was collected from construction, N26.256.20billion from arts, education and recreation while electricity, gas and air conditioning earned the Federal Government N15.467 billion CIT.
