A cleric, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, is seeking an end to insecurity. Ikuru,  founder of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, spoke at a news conference in Lagos.

He praised the President’s performance, adding many of his campaign promises had been fulfilled. He listed these as unity and stability, which he noted, are critical to  development.

Others, he said, are removal of fuel subsidy, Student Loan, council autonomy, coastal road, and improved bilateral relations.

He noted reduced import dependence and stronger fiscal policies, introduced by the President, are vital to growth.

The cleric reiterated his confidence in Tinubu, recalling he had predicted his victory before the last presidential election held.

He expressed optimism that the president would secure re-election and deliver more dividends of democracy.

In view of the foregoing, he urged citizens to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in next year’s general elections.

Ikuru called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and stakeholders, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party, African Democratic Congress (ADC), and others to collaborate in ensuring peace and stability nationwide.

He argued that the president should not be blamed for rising market prices, as many goods consumed in Nigeria are imported and that the ongoing reforms are beginning to stabilise the system.

On security, Ikuru condemned the attacks in the North and warned that such acts undermine the nation’s development, adding that the perpetrators should desist. He charged the Nigerian Air Force to intensify efforts in tackling insurgency and provide more transparency on recent coordinated operations  that led to multiple casualties.

He added that Nigerians should promote unity, avoid division, and work toward building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
