Prophet Sam Olu Alo has called on Christians and Muslims to set aside differences and unite in prayer during the ongoing Ramadan and Lent season as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections.

The cleric stressed the need to prioritise peace, love, and national cohesion in the lead-up to the polls, describing the period of fasting and reflection as a critical moment for spiritual renewal and collective responsibility.

In a statement issued by his personal assistant, Hon. Deji Ogunbusuyi, Nigerians were reminded of the importance of unity and stability as the country prepares for another electoral cycle.

According to Prophet Alo, the season offers a unique opportunity for citizens to seek divine guidance and intervention for the nation. He urged Nigerians to pray for political leaders, the electoral process, and the overall well-being of the country.

He described the 2027 elections as a test of Nigeria’s democratic maturity, noting that unity and sustained interfaith prayers would reinforce the foundations of peaceful coexistence.

The cleric emphasised that peace, love, and harmony remain essential to national development and urged citizens to reject violence, hatred, and divisive rhetoric in favour of building a stable and prosperous society.

He said, "By praying for peace and harmony, Nigerians can create a better future for themselves and generations to come."

He felicitated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, all southwest governors, particularly Governor Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti state, traditional rulers, and other Nigerian leaders, urging them to put the interest of the nation at heart, particularly during this fasting season.

He, however, urged Nigerian leaders to prioritize the welfare of citizens and work towards creating a just and equitable society, saying that by doing so, they can earn the trust and confidence of the people and create a conducive environment for development.

The cleric also reminded people of his program tagged "Europe for Christ, "Mercy That Opens the Door of Help".

"Malta Chapter, February 27, March 2nd, 2026. Sweden, March 5, Finland, March 6, 7, and 8, 2026."
