A Commissioner in the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), Hakeem Bamgbola, has thrown weight behind Damilola Ayinde Marshal, daughter of Fuji icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1), who is contesting for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Surulere Constituency 2 and some aspirants seeking elective offices in Surulere.

He also declared his endorsement for Barakat Odunnuga-Bakare for Lagos House of Assembly in Surulere Constituency 1; Fuad Laguda and Lanre Okunola - House of Representatives Surulere Constituency 1 and 2 ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Bamgbola’s support signals growing momentum within party ranks as stakeholders rally behind individuals considered capable of sustaining development and effective representation.

He described the aspirants as credible, experienced, and deeply rooted in the values of service.

He emphasized the importance of continuity, loyalty, and proven capacity in selecting candidates who will represent the interests of the people at both state and federal levels.

Bamgbola, the former All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos Central Vice Chairman, praised Damilola’s upbringing, exposure, and commitment to public service, noting that she possesses the right blend of youthfulness and competence needed to drive impactful legislation.

According to him, if Damilola emerged, it would not just be a generational shift but also an opportunity to deepen grassroots engagement and empower more young people within the constituency. He expressed confidence that her candidacy would inspire wider participation in governance, particularly among women and the youth.

He described Okunola as a seasoned political figure with a strong understanding of legislative responsibilities and constituency needs. He added that Okunola’s track record in the national assembly and loyalty to the party makes him a dependable choice.

On Odunnuga-Barakat, who’s contesting for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Surulere Constituency 1, Bamgbola described her as a committed party member with a passion for community development. He said her achievement in the state’s ministry of housing is commendable.

He urged party members to close ranks and work collectively.

He expressed optimism that with collective effort, the candidates would emerge victorious and usher in a new era of inclusive growth and responsive governance in Surulere.
