A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention media committee, Arabinrin Aderonke, has described the 4th Elective National Convention held at Eagles Square, Abuja, as “seamless, purposeful, and inspiring,” praising the level of coordination and dedication displayed by all involved.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Aderonke, an award-winning investigative journalist, highlighted Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s speech as a standout moment, noting that it went beyond political rhetoric to provide clear policy direction and a roadmap for governance.

“The President’s address reflected honesty about challenges while projecting confidence in the direction of reforms,” she said, adding that themes of unity, institutional strengthening, and inclusive governance dominated the speech.

Aderonke explained that Tinubu’s emphasis on unity underscores the necessity of cooperation across regions, institutions, and political interests for effective policy implementation. She noted that placing unity at the centre signals that governance success depends on collective responsibility rather than government action alone.

The President also highlighted institutional strengthening, stressing that the APC was designed not merely as a vehicle for winning elections but as a platform for national transformation. According to Aderonke, this aligns with policies prioritising strong institutions, sustainable decision-making, and transparency.

On democracy, Tinubu’s speech openly acknowledged the importance of a credible opposition, reinforcing accountability, policy quality, and democratic stability. Similarly, his discussion on the Electoral Act emphasized the rule of law, legislative scrutiny, and public participation as critical foundations for credible elections and investor confidence.

Aderonke further noted that the President positioned the Renewed Hope Agenda as a governing philosophy rather than a campaign slogan, signalling that reforms—such as subsidy removal and economic corrections—are guided by a long-term framework.

Economic priorities featured prominently, including infrastructure development in roads, seaports, and airports, fiscal and tax reforms, macroeconomic stability, and social investment programmes designed to protect vulnerable populations during periods of reform.

Tinubu also addressed structural challenges in energy and electricity, proposing the establishment of the Grid Asset Management Company to improve transmission infrastructure. He emphasised youth and women's inclusion as key drivers of national development.

The President reinforced internal party democracy, discipline, and ethical leadership, linking strong party structures to more organised governance and better accountability.

According to Aderonke, the speech presents a government focused on long-term reforms, institutional resilience, economic stability, and inclusive growth—acknowledging challenges while framing them as necessary steps toward a stronger and more resilient Nigeria.

“The convention was a privilege to serve on, and the address left a strong sense that the administration is committed to staying the course, improving systems, and delivering measurable progress for Nigerians,” she concluded.
