Kosofe Local Government has celebrated the retirement and 60th birthday of its former Human Resources Officer, Michael Odesanya (Babalawo) .

The at the council secretariat, was convened under leadership of the Chairman,  Moyosore Ogunlewe, in honour of Odesanya’s contributions to growth and development of the council.

The chairman reflected on the longstanding relationship between his family and Odesanya’s family, expressing admiration for the celebrator’s life marked by integrity, diligence and commitment to public service. He emphasised that Odesanya’s legacy in the council remains indelible and continues to inspire.

Council Manager, Mrs. Mosunmola Otaiku-Okoka, described the retiree as a consummate professional, who demonstrated discipline, dedication and industry throughout his tenure. She underscored his commitment to duty and his contributions during his years of service.

Secretary to the Local Government, Community Development Committee Chair and council treasurer lauded the celebrator as a highly disciplined, seasoned and committed officer whose contributions advanced the administrative and operational efficiency of the council. They lauded his work ethic, humility and character, while wishing him good health and fulfilment in retirement.

Director of Post Service Department at the Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Irewole Ogunsakin, praised his dedication and service to the state, and advised him to prioritise his wellbeing and maintain a healthy lifestyle in retirement.

A key highlight of the occasion was presentation of Retirement Certificate to Odesanya by LGSC Post Service Department, symbolising completion of a distinguished public service career.

In his response, the celebrant expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Chairman, management, staff, family members and well wishers for the honour accorded to him. He acknowledged the overwhelming show of goodwill and pledged to remain a proud ambassador of the Council in retirement. He also conveyed the sincere gratitude of his family for the recognition and celebration.

The event concluded on a celebratory note, featuring goodwill interactions, presentations and photographic sessions in honour of the distinguished retiree.
