Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Lateef Ashimi, has led inauguration and monitoring of the monthly environmental sanitation in the council..

The chairman, accompanied by the legislative arm management team and key officials, embarked on a  tour of all eight wards to ensure full compliance and active participation by residents.

During the exercise, Ashimi noted importance of maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, saying environmental sanitation is a collective responsibility essential for preventing diseases and promoting community well-being.

   He lauded residents and stakeholders for their cooperation and urged them to sustain the culture of cleanliness beyond the sanitation hours.

The chairman reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening environmental policies and enforcement mechanisms to ensure a healthier Somolu.

  Ashimi further assured residents the local government will continue to prioritise initiatives that enhance environmental sustainability and improve the quality of life for all.

The exercise witnessed active participation from community leaders, market men and women, as well as sanitation officials, reflecting a shared resolve to keep Somolu clean and safe.
