Cyberpedia Internet Governance, an Africa-based artificial intelligence, data and cybersecurity firm, has unveiled enhanced capabilities in its AI-powered due diligence search engine to combat the growing spread of misinformation and disinformation online.
The platform, accessible via [www.cyberpedia.app](http://www.cyberpedia.app), is designed to support individuals, organisations, journalists and governments with real-time tools to verify, fact-check and address harmful digital content.
According to the company, the upgraded search engine enables users to query, validate and debunk false information, as well as request the removal of malicious or misleading content circulating on the internet.
Among its key features is a real-time due diligence search function that cross-references claims, names, organisations and URLs against extensive data sources, including domain records, litigation databases, sanctions lists and cyber intelligence feeds.
The platform also includes a misinformation and disinformation scanner capable of detecting fabricated narratives, deepfakes, manipulated images and coordinated campaigns, while generating evidence-based reports linked to original sources.
In addition, the system offers reputation management and content remediation tools, allowing users to flag harmful materials, contest inaccurate information and request the removal of damaging search results or social media posts.
Cyberpedia said its integration of Cyber GPT AI provides balanced analytical insights and supports digital crisis management, enabling users to respond effectively to online threats.

Founder of the company, Abiodun Sowemimo, said the innovation was developed to strengthen trust and accountability in the digital space.
“In the information age, truth must be defended with better technology. Our due diligence search engine empowers users not just to consume information, but to verify, protect and restore truth online,” he said.
He noted that the platform is tailored for a wide range of users, including individuals facing defamation, journalists seeking credible information, law enforcement agencies conducting background checks, and organisations managing reputational risks.
Cyberpedia explained that the tool addresses gaps in traditional search engines, which often lack context and actionable solutions, especially amid the rapid rise of AI-generated content and coordinated disinformation campaigns.
The company added that the platform is already being used by law enforcement agencies, businesses and private users for background checks, regulatory compliance and digital reputation protection.
Cyberpedia is a member of the World Economic Forum New Champions, the Internet Society and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
The application is available for free download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, with users able to access its full features online.
