Grammy-nominated singer Davido has apologised to fans after missing a scheduled performance in Lagos on Sunday, citing difficulties sourcing aviation fuel.
The artist was set to headline alongside Zlatan Ibile at Secret Place in Ikate Elegushi as part of the club’s fifth anniversary celebration.
Fans gathered for the event but Davido did not appear, drawing reactions online and at the venue.
In an Instagram story posted Monday, Davido said logistical challenges linked to fuel shortages disrupted his travel plans and forced a reschedule.
He attributed the issue to broader global tensions, saying wars around the world were affecting operations and that finding fuel to fly was a problem.

“The world happened to me yesterday. These wars around the world have really started penetrating. Finding fuel was a problem yesterday to even fly. Everything had to be rescheduled,” he said.
Davido apologised to fans who attended and promised to reschedule the performance soon.
“To my fans that pulled up… sorry I missed it. We’re going to run it back again soon,” he added.
He also congratulated the event organisers and reiterated his support, assuring fans of a future appearance.
The incident comes amid wider concerns over fuel supply disruptions affecting the aviation sector, with rising costs and shortages impacting flight schedules in several regions.
