The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, on Monday, led members of the Command Management Team on separate courtesy visits to the 63 Brigade Nigerian Army and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Delta State Command as part of efforts to deepen inter-agency collaboration in tackling crime.
During the visits, Oyeniyi stressed that crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, child trafficking and drug-related offences are interconnected and require a unified, intelligence-driven response from security agencies.
He noted that no single agency could effectively confront the growing security challenges alone, adding that stronger cooperation among security institutions remained critical to sustaining peace and public safety across the state.
At the NDLEA command, the police commissioner particularly highlighted the need for joint action against drug trafficking and substance abuse, describing them as major drivers of crime and serious threats to young people.

He commended both the Nigerian Army and the NDLEA for their continued support to the police and called for deeper collaboration through intelligence sharing and coordinated operations.
Responding, the Brigade Commander of 63 Brigade, Brigadier General M.A. Shonibare, and the NDLEA State Commander, CN Halilu Hamidu, commended the Delta State Police Command for its efforts in crime control and reaffirmed their commitment to sustained partnership.
They both underscored the importance of intelligence sharing, joint operations and institutional cooperation in maintaining peace and security across Delta State.
The visits, according to the police command, reflect its resolve to strengthen inter-agency synergy and promote a coordinated approach to crime prevention and public safety in the state.
