The Delta State Police Command has intensified its offensive against criminal networks, recording significant breakthroughs with the interception of a large drug consignment and the arrest of a suspected armed robber linked to multiple attacks in the Warri area of the state.
A statement on Wednesday by the Command's spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, revealed that on February 13, 2026, operatives of the Eagle Net Special Squad intercepted a white J5 bus along the Asaba–Agbor expressway during a routine stop-and-search operation.
He said concealed beneath company machines were one thousand five hundred and twenty (1,520) packets of Tramadol and Swinol tablets, primed for distribution.
Edafe said the driver, Ebuka Dominion (30) from Aguta Local Government Area, Anambra State, and the motor boy, Emmanuel Terdule (30) from Katsina-Ala LGA, Benue State, were arrested on the spot.
The spokesman said swift follow-up intelligence led to the arrest of the alleged owner of the consignment, Peter Etim Akpan (47) from Nibiaya Uruan LGA, Akwa Ibom State.
He said investigations are ongoing to dismantle the wider network behind the operation.

He noted: "During interrogation, the suspect led officers to a bush in the Jedo area of Warri, where a locally made firearm was recovered.
"He confessed to membership of the Aye Confraternity and admitted involvement in multiple door-to-door robbery operations," Edafe said efforts are underway to track down other members of the gang.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, has reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to intelligence-driven policing and the protection of lives and property.
He called on residents to continue providing timely and credible information as the Command intensifies its crackdown on criminal elements.
