Nigerian DJ, cultural curator, and performer, DJ Pretty Play, is currently recovering after completing an extraordinary 300-hour non-stop DJ marathon in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record.
The Akwa Ibom-born, Lagos-based DJ pushed beyond her initial 288-hour target, performing continuously for 12 days from March 3, 2026 to March 15, 2026 at Bay Lounge, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
Her performance showcased high-energy music, rhythm, and crowd engagement across genres including Afrobeats, Afrohouse, Hip-Hop, and Amapiano.

Following the intense endurance feat, she is now being treated for swollen legs, extreme fatigue, and breathing complications, currently requiring oxygen support. Despite these challenges, her determination remained unwavering throughout the attempt.
During the marathon, she faced several obstacles, including a restart after an inadvertent song repetition four days into the challenge. Nevertheless, she persevered with resilience and completed the full duration, taking only five-minute breaks per hour.
DJ Pretty Play is widely recognized for her clean mixes, creative transitions, and powerful live performances. She has previously performed at major platforms such as Big Brother Naija and the AFRIMMA Awards (USA), and has collaborated with notable artists like Magnito and Skales.
This record attempt, according to her representatives, is more than personal as it represents a bold statement for African women in the global DJ industry.
“By taking on this challenge, she aims to break stereotypes, amplify African culture, and inspire the next generation of female creatives to pursue global opportunities,” said DJ Pretty Play reps.
While the official recognition from Guinness World Records is still pending, the priority remains her health and recovery.
