The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has conducted a community engagement session with Community Development Associations (CDAs) in Somolu.

The CDAs engaged  at the event held last Friday included Ijobu-Tedo CDA, SakSak CDA, Layo-Otegbaade CDA, Boshua CDA, Aoolta CDA, Aroda CDA, Irebamisi CDA.

Others were  Apata CDA, Onaolapo CDA, Boshua West CDA, Ifesowapo CDA, and Agbajowo CDA, bringing the total number of participating CDAs to twelve (12).

During the sensitization, Ms. Bunmi Amosu and Mr. Richard Akanbi, who represented the Executive Secretary, Mrs Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, outlined the core objectives of DSVA.

They emphasized the Agency’s unwavering commitment to eliminating Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in the state.

Participants were educated on the various forms of sexual violence and child abuse, as well as the legal frameworks and penalties established to combat such offences.

Community members were further enlightened on available reporting channels, including the Family Support Unit (FSU), Primary Health Care Centres, and other essential support services provided by DSVA for survivors of abuse.

The Agency’s toll-free helpline (08000333333) was also shared to encourage timely reporting and access to appropriate interventions.

Earlier in a welcome address delivered by the CDC Chairman, Alhaji Telia Tajudeen, commended the Agency for its consistent efforts in promoting safety, awareness, and community well-being across Lagos State.

The programme concluded with closing remarks from representatives of the participating CDAs, who expressed their appreciation to DSVA for bringing the sensitization initiative to their community and for its continued commitment to fostering a safer and more informed society.
