Maduka Okoye has been ruled out of Nigeria's international friendly against Jordan after picking up an injury in training, the Super Eagles' Media Officer  has confirmed.

Promise Efoghe disclosed that the Udinese goalkeeper sustained the knock during  training session and would return to Italy for further assessment and treatment with his Serie A club.

"Maduka Okoye has   suffered  a thigh knock  in training  and will not be part of Tuesday’s friendly against Jordan,” Efoghe said. "

He will head back to Udinese, where the club's medical team will determine the extent of the injury.

With the 25-year-old sidelined, head coach Éric Chelle will choose between Francis Uzoho and Adebayo Adeleye to fill the void between the sticks.

The Super Eagles face Al-Nashama at the Corendon Airlines Park today , four days after beating Iran 2-1 at the same venue on Friday.
