The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has felicitated with Christians in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of the 2026 Easter celebrations, urging prayers for peace, security, and national prosperity.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Prof. Tukur Muhammad-Baba, the forum said the Easter season, which marks the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, remains a period of deep reflection, sacrifice, compassion, and goodwill.

The ACF noted that this year’s celebration comes amid worsening social, economic, and political challenges confronting Nigerians, particularly persistent insecurity and rising criminality across the country.

It lamented that the situation has continued to deteriorate across the three geopolitical zones of Northern Nigeria, where many communities have suffered repeated attacks, loss of lives, destruction of property, displacement, and fractured inter-group relations due to the activities of armed groups and other criminal elements.

Despite the grim realities, the forum said the willingness of citizens to celebrate Easter reflects resilience and enduring hope for a better future, expressing optimism that the country’s challenges are not insurmountable.

The ACF called on Christians and all Nigerians to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and prayerful, stressing the need for unity in seeking peace, justice, equity, and economic recovery for the nation.

It also urged security agencies to be reinvigorated and take decisive action against terrorists and criminal networks, while calling for collective efforts and prayers for a change of heart among those behind the violence and the conditions enabling their activities.
