He said the agency had strengthened waste evacuation arrangements across the metropolis, with additional monitoring and operational support to ensure prompt service delivery during the festive period.
Gbadegesin noted that festive periods are often characterised by increased waste generation, stressing the need for both service providers and residents to play active roles in maintaining a clean environment.
He urged residents to adopt simple waste reduction habits such as avoiding unnecessary purchases, reusing materials where possible and separating recyclable items from general waste.

He added that the authority was working closely with licensed Private Sector Participant (PSP) operators to sustain regular domestic waste evacuation and address service gaps where necessary.
Gbadegesin also cautioned against indiscriminate dumping of refuse in drainage channels, road medians and open spaces, warning that such practices could obstruct the free flow of storm water as the rainy season approaches.
According to him, environmental cleanliness is a collective responsibility requiring collaboration among government, service providers and residents.
He reassured Lagosians of LAWMA’s commitment to improved service delivery through operational efficiency, infrastructure upgrades and sustained public enlightenment.
Gbadegesin encouraged residents to report waste management issues via the authority’s customer care line, 07080601020, and its social media platforms for prompt response.
