Governor Francis Nwifuru and the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Chinedu Ogah, called on Christians in Ebonyi State to embrace the spirit of Easter by promoting peace, unity, and extending love to the less privileged.
In separate Easter messages, the leaders urged the faithful to reflect on the core values of sacrifice, humility, and unwavering faith, and to pray for Nigeria’s peace, harmony, and social cohesion.

Governor Nwifuru described Easter as the cornerstone of the Christian faith, symbolising redemption and the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair, and life over death.
“The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is not only a spiritual victory but also a moral compass that calls us to live in peace, love, humility, and selflessness,” he said.
The governor noted that the country's current economic and social challenges make the message of Easter even more relevant, urging citizens to reject division, hatred, and violence and instead embrace unity, compassion, and forgiveness.
He reassured residents that his administration remains committed to addressing security concerns and improving living conditions through strengthened security measures, infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, youth empowerment, and agricultural transformation under the state’s People’s Charter of Needs.
Nwifuru, however, stressed that government efforts alone are not sufficient, calling on citizens to actively contribute to building a peaceful and progressive society.

“We must be our brother’s keeper, promote peace in our communities, and extend love and charity to the less privileged,” he added, expressing optimism that unity and faith would help overcome current challenges.
On his part, Hon. Ogah described Easter as a powerful symbol of hope, renewal, and redemption, urging Christians to draw inspiration from the resurrection of Christ.
“It is a solemn period that calls for deep reflection on the enduring values of sacrifice, humility, unity, and faith in God,” he said.
He encouraged Nigerians to remain committed to peace and national development, while reaffirming his dedication to effective representation and policies aimed at improving the welfare of his constituents.
Both leaders emphasized that the Easter season presents an opportunity for renewed commitment to peace, unity, and collective progress in Ebonyi State and Nigeria at large.
