Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed confidence that Nigeria will overcome its present economic and security challenges, assuring citizens that the nation will ultimately triumph through collective resolve and faith.
“I remain confident that by our collective will, shared sacrifice, and abiding faith in the promise of this nation, we shall triumph over whatever challenges beset us momentarily,” the Vice President said.
Shettima gave the assurance in his Easter message to Nigerians, where he called for unity and sustained support for the ongoing reforms of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, he emphasised that national progress requires patience, endurance, and a shared sense of purpose, urging citizens not to lose faith in the country’s future.
The Vice President also appealed to Nigerians to reject divisive tendencies and instead embrace the values that bind them together, noting that the nation’s diversity remains a key strength.

Shettima assured Nigerians of better days ahead under the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing the current economic difficulties as temporary and necessary phases on the path to long-term prosperity.
He reiterated the administration’s commitment to peace, economic recovery, and sustainable development, stressing that the journey to national renewal often demands sacrifice and collective effort.
Reflecting on the significance of Easter, the Vice President said the season symbolises hope, sacrifice, and resurrection, reminding Nigerians that no period of hardship lasts forever.
According to him, Easter represents the triumph of hope over despair and light over darkness, lessons he said are particularly relevant to Nigeria’s current situation.
“Easter is a reminder that history often bends in favour of those who refuse to surrender to despair. It is the story of light piercing through darkness, of hope rising from the shadows of pain, and of faith prevailing over fear,” he stated.
He further encouraged Nigerians to draw strength from the message of Easter and remain steadfast in their belief in the country’s promise, assuring that brighter days lie ahead.
