The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has reaffirmed its support for the re-election of Governor Francis Nwifuru in 2027.
State chairman of the party, Stanley Emegha, made this known while receiving members of the Coordinators Forum and the Forum of Management Committee members in Abakaliki.
Emegha said the party was prepared to collaborate with stakeholders and residents across the state to secure Nwifuru’s return for a second term, citing his performance in office and efforts to promote inclusiveness, particularly among women and youths.
He maintained that no level of opposition would derail the governor’s re-election bid, given what he described as achievements across key sectors.
The delegation, comprising coordinators from 63 development centres and 504 management committee members, visited the APC secretariat to present a donation of N50 million in support of Nwifuru’s nomination as the party’s candidate.
Emegha noted that previous governors in the state had completed their second terms, expressing confidence that Nwifuru would follow the same path.
He urged party structures at the grassroots to intensify mobilisation ahead of the elections, warning that the party would not tolerate lapses in performance.

The chairman also commended the group for its financial support, expressing optimism that the governor would respond positively to calls to seek re-election.
He said, “Our party is very happy to receive you people here in the office today with this heavy amount. Your message is clear; whether he likes it or not, the Coordinators Forum and Management Committee members in the state are saying he should run for a second term. You are not only saying it, but you are also here to pay for his expression of interest and nomination forms. That’s very commendable.
“As we all know, it’s a tradition in Ebonyi for any sitting Governor to go for a second term in office; so Governor Nwifuru‘s case won’t be different.
“As a party, we are in agreement with you that Governor Nwifuru must get his second term come 2027, and we are ready to work with Ebonyi people to ensure its realisation”, he said.
Earlier, Chairman of the Ebonyi Coordinators Forum and Coordinator of the Ominyi Development Centre, Chidi Ogbonna, and Chairman of the Ebonyi Management Committees Forum, Friday Nkwuda, said the governor has brought development to all communities in the state and deserves to be re-elected.
According to him, “We own the grassroots, and we want to inform you that we are proud of the leadership ingenuity of His Excellency the Governor, and we shall perfect his victory come 2027.
“There is no community in Ebonyi State today that doesn’t have a completed or an ongoing project courtesy of the governor.
“We can’t forget the befitting duplexes he built for our traditional rulers in all the autonomous communities in the state, our health centres he revamped, security of lives and property, among others,” he said.
