Residents of Enugu metropolis will enjoy free transportation to the venue of the 37th Enugu International Trade Fair as part of efforts to encourage wider public participation in the annual business and investment event.

President of the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA), Engr. Nnanyelugo Onyemelukwe, disclosed this on Thursday during a press briefing at the ECCIMA Council Chamber in Enugu while announcing preparations for the trade fair.

Onyemelukwe said the fair would hold from March 21 to March 30, 2026, at the Enugu International Trade Fair Complex, Golf Course, GRA, off the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway.

He explained that the chamber had arranged free transport services to and from the trade fair complex from Abakpa, Emene, Gariki and the Holy Ghost Bus Terminals.

According to him, the buses would depart the designated locations at exactly 4 p.m. daily to enable residents conveniently visit the fair and take part in the various activities lined up for the event.

“We have made arrangements for the provision of free transport services to and from the Trade Fair Complex from Abakpa, Emene, Gariki and Holy Ghost Bus Terminals at 4 p.m. daily to encourage Enugu residents to visit the fair,” he said.

The ECCIMA president noted that the theme of the 37th edition is “Empowering MSMEs for Global Competitiveness,” stressing that the event would focus on strengthening small and medium-scale enterprises as key drivers of economic growth.

He disclosed that preparations for the fair began immediately after the 36th edition in the second quarter of 2025, expressing confidence that the upcoming event would record significant participation despite prevailing economic challenges.

Onyemelukwe said the chamber had already received strong interest from corporate organisations and institutions, with some companies already building exhibition stands and branding their spaces at the complex.

He added that the fair would feature a three-day business masterclass focusing on real business growth strategies, the future of Artificial Intelligence for MSMEs, and understanding tax compliance.

The ECCIMA president further revealed that a newly commissioned 3,000-square-metre ECCIMA Premium Convention and Exhibition Hall capable of accommodating over 140 exhibitors would be used for the first time during the fair.

He called on the media and members of the public to support the chamber by publicising the event and participating actively in the 37th Enugu International Trade Fair.
