Article 9(iv) of the party’s constitution to issue the directive.

Factional Chairman of the party, Kennedy Odion, in a statement, said the suspended members were alleged to have engaged in the acts of insubordination, including refusal to comply with lawful directives of the party, anti-party activities, including conduct inconsistent with party objectives and directives.

Odion said Oyegun and others’ action were capable of causing disaffection, disorder, or disruption within the party structure.

“They shall not represent the party in any official or unofficial capacity and

they shall cease to hold themselves out as officers or agents of the party.’’

He said all affected members retained the right to appeal in accordance with Article 15(D).

The directive, according to Odion,  was with immediate effect.

Mr. Alile, who was elected chairman by the Odigie-Oyegun-led faction said Odion was expelled from the party by the National Working Committee of the party.

He accused Odion of playing to the gallery.

Alile said Odion was being sponsored by external forces.
