Edo State Government has said it remains committed to delivering durable roads that meet approved international standards across the state.
It urged the citizens to be patient with the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Special Adviser to Governor Okpebholo on Projects Monitoring and Implementation, Phoebe Williams-Bello, gave the assurance during a three-day inspection tour of ongoing projects in Edo Central and Edo North senatorial districts.
Williams-Bello said no contractor was being owed.
Speaking to reporters in Edo Central, she urged contractors to maintain the momentum, saying Governor Okpebholo prioritised infrastructure and ensured prompt payment to contractors.

“As you can see, we have covered about five kilometres at the binder level, and the wearing course will follow. We want to thank my principal, Senator Okpebholo, because contractors are not being owed. This is why you can see them actively on site delivering the work.”
In Edo North, Williams-Bello inspected palliative works on failed sections of the Auchi–Igarra–Aiyetoro–Unemu–Nekhua–Aiyegunle–Ekpesa–Ibillo–Ekor road in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area.
“I am very sure that within this timeframe, His Excellency will deliver major roads across Edo North, Central and South. I urge Edo people to be patient. We are addressing road deficiencies, and by God’s grace, we will achieve significant milestones in the coming months.”
Other projects inspected include Irrua–Illeh–Usenu–Ukhun Road, Irrua–Akho–Illeh–Ukhun Road, Ewatto–Udo Road, Idumu Iyasele Road, Ideselu–Ewatto Road and Ohe–Ozea Road.
