.. knocks opposition

Edo State Government said its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) has hit N10bn monthly.

It said the increased IGR was as a result of committment to ensuring that everything that needs to be done was carried out.

Edo Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua, who spoke at a press briefing in Benin City, said the increased revenue helped Governor Monday Okpebholo executed projects that Edo people are excited about.

Prince Afegbua also announced that Governor has signed agreement with a Chinese firm for production of 10 million metric tons of cement production in Owan East Local Government Area.

Afegbua condemned the Ibadan meeting where 14 oposition political parties agreed to field one presidential candidate.

He said it was a contradiction to opposition parties claim that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), planned to reduce Nigeria to a one-party state.

He accused the ADC and the PDP of shrinking the political space by the decision to field one presidential candidate.

"We saw a gathering of opposition leaders in Ibadan. What betrayed their whole essence is the idea of a one party state. That is like shrinking the political space. It is contradiction.

"It is politicis of desperation. They want to remove Tinubu at all cost. If you dont want Tinubu, what is the alternative. Tibunu removed subsidy, if your candidate wants to bring back subsidy let us know. The beauty of the human society and human engagement is contestatation. President Tinubu came up with tax reforms, tell us what you want to do. Senator Okpebholo is passionate about sustaining and pursuiny Tinubu’s policies and programmes."
