Edo State Government has said its Internally Generated Revenue has hit N10billion monthly.

It said the increased IGR was as a result of commitment to ensuring everything that needed to be done was carried out.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua, who spoke at a news conference in Benin City, said the increased revenue helped Governor Monday Okpebholo to execute projects  Edo people are excited about.

He said the governor had signed agreement with a Chinese firm for the production of 10 million metric tons of cement production in Owan East Local Government.

Afegbua condemned the Ibadan meeting where 14 opposition political parties agreed to field one presidential candidate.

He said it was a contradiction to opposition parties claim that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) planned to reduce Nigeria to a one-party state.

He accused ADC and PDP of shrinking the political space by the decision to field one presidential candidate.

“We saw a gathering of opposition leaders in Ibadan. What betrayed their whole essence is the idea of a one party state. That is like shrinking the political space. It is contradiction.

“It is politics of desperation. They want to remove Tinubu at all cost. If you don’t want Tinubu, what is the alternative? Tinubu removed subsidy, if your candidate wants to bring back subsidy let us know. The beauty of the human society and human engagement is contestation. President Tinubu came up with tax reforms; tell us what you want to do. Senator Okpebholo is passionate about sustaining and pursuing Tinubu’s policies and programmes”
