The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has congratulated the Nigerian Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the 1447 AH Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
In a statement signed by the JNI Secretary-General, Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, the Sultan said, “We felicitate with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah and by extension the world, on the successful completion of the 1447 AH Ramadan fast and the observance of Eid-el-Fitr.”

He added, “May the occurrence be a time for deeper reflections of our actions and prayers for stability, peace, joy and blessings to all Muslims, as well as our loved ones.”

The Sultan prayed for the acceptance of acts of worship, saying, “May Allah, the Most High, accept all our fasting and overlook our shortcomings therein, and accept our supplications and good deeds during Ramadan.”
He also advised Muslims to observe the additional fastings, noting, “Nigerian Muslims are urged not to forget Sittah-Shawwal, the six days recommended fasting by the Prophet (SAW), which follows the Ramadan fast.”
On national issues, the Sultan called for prayers ahead of the 2027 elections, saying, “We reiterate our call to the Muslim faithful to intensify prayers for self and the Ummah against all manners of misfortunes.”

He also called on “all stakeholders to be introspective and work assiduously towards credible, free, fair and transparent elections, for a stable Nigeria in 2027.”
On global tensions, he appealed for peace, saying, “We call on world leaders to, in the name of Allah, de-escalate the Iran–USA/Israel war and all similar conflicts across the globe, for the sake of world peace, stability and security.”
He warned of the consequences of war, noting, “Historically, wars have no good omen; they are destructive and could significantly affect the global food chain and economy.”
