The Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, has launched the Measles–Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign, in collaboration with the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board. The vaccination aimed at protecting children and raise awareness on critical health issues in the council area.

The campaign, launched at the Council Secretariat, brought together parents, health practitioners, and key stakeholders, creating a platform for engagement and community education. It provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of vaccination and preventive healthcare.

Taiwo said health remains a top priority of the administration, stating that “health is wealth.”

He urged stakeholders to return to their communities to educate residents further and commended health workers for their dedication to service.

Chairman of Isolo LCDA Adebayo Olasoju, who was represented by Musibao Quadri, highlighted the importance of health promotion and community wellbeing, underlining the councils’ shared commitment to ensuring healthier communities.

The council’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Yetunde Ibrahim, explained that the campaign was designed to educate residents and encourage active participation in improving public health.

She commended the chairman and stakeholders for their unwavering support for health initiatives, noting that collaboration is key to success.

Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District VI, Dr. Olufemi Omolola, urged residents to prioritise health insurance and emphasized awareness on Rubella. He noted that early prevention and timely action are essential to protecting the health of the community.

The Health Education Officer, Mrs Basirat Seriki, provided detailed information on the upcoming Measles–Rubella vaccination campaign, urging parents and caregivers to ensure that eligible children are vaccinated.
