The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has declared support for the re-election of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, citing his impressive performance across key sectors of the state’s economy.

The student body commended the governor for executing projects that are transforming the state’s landscape and positioning Ekiti as a growing hub of development.

It also praised his prudent management of resources, noting that the scale and quality of projects delivered over the last three and a half years reflect effective utilisation of available revenues.

The NANS led by the Southwest Treasurer, Comr. Femi Samuel Asaolu made this known during an inspection tour of major projects undertaken by the Oyebanji-led administration.

Projects visited by the students included the newly constructed Ekiti Revenue House (EKIRS), the 1.2-kilometre Ado-Ekiti flyover, the 18-kilometre Ado-Ekiti Ring Road (Phase 1), Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), and Ekiti State University (EKSU), among others.

Asaolu reaffirmed the collective backing of students across the state for the governor’s second term, stressing that continuity in leadership would help sustain ongoing development and accelerate progress in critical sectors.

He said that the tour was organised to give student leaders firsthand exposure to the administration’s infrastructural and developmental strides, enabling them to make informed assessments of government performance.

Asaolu described the 1.2km Okeyinmi-Ajilosun flyover bridge project as a vital infrastructure designed to ease traffic congestion and support the Governor Oyebanji-led administration’s urban renewal agenda.

The NANS leader also highlighted the state’s growing investment in digital education, pointing to the well-equipped ICT centre at the College of Nursing, Ado-Ekiti, regarded as one of the best in the Southwest, as well as the advanced ICT infrastructure at EKSU.

While inspecting the ring road linking major campuses, Asaolu expressed optimism that the project would ease transportation challenges and improve access to key economic assets, including the Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport, expected to boost trade and connectivity.

He further commended the government’s agricultural initiatives, particularly the YSJ Farms programme, which it said is engaging young people in agribusiness and contributing to youth empowerment and food security.
