Some prominent Nollywood actors and actress have rallied support for Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, ahead of the June 20 governorship election in the state.
The Nollywood stars said their decision followed an independent assessment tour of key government projects across the state, where they evaluated ongoing and completed projects executed under Governor Oyebanji-led administration.
The delegation, led by Yomi Fas Lansho, included notable actors and actresses such as Wumi Ajiboye, Baba Tee, Adeniyi Johnson, Dayo Amusa and Doyin Kukoyi, among others.
During the tour, the team visited several projects in Ado Ekiti, including the Skill Acquisition Centre for Persons With Disabilities, the Adire Hub, the Broiler Hub Technical Centre, 18km Ring Road Phase 1, and Omisanjana-Ben Folarin-Aso Road.
Other major projects visited were the Ekiti cargo Airport, 1.2km Okeyinmi-Ijigbo flyover bridge, BOVAS-Spotless Road, Ajebamidele-Omisanjana Road, Ikere-Igbara Odo Road, Ido-Ipere Road, Ise-Agbado Road, Igbemo Ikole Road and Ikole-Isinbode Road among others.
They also visited the newly revamped general hospitals in Ilupeju, Ayede, Iye, Ifaki, and Okemesi, as well as Ikogosi Warm Springs, a globally recognized tourist site.
Speaking at the end of the three-day tour, Faslansho commended the governor for his giant strides in infrastructures, social investment, healthcare, agriculture, and education.
He said that the positive rating of the Governor Oyebanji-led administration was based purely on what they saw on ground, stressing that the tour was not influenced by any political consideration.
The Nollywood actor said that the tour revealed a picture of developmental governance in Ekiti state different from what is being portrayed on social media.
He noted that contrary to claims that Governor Oyebanji was underperforming, the state has witnessed transformation through the implementation of people-centric policies and execution of tangible and developmental projects across the state.
He noted that the projects inspected across different sectors, including road infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, social investment, and tourism were clear indicators of a government that prioritises development and the welfare of its people.
Faslansho particularly commended the spread of projects across the 16 local government area of Ekiti , describing it as a deliberate effort to ensure that both urban and rural communities benefit from dividends of good governance.
He, therefore, urged Ekiti residents to sustain their support for the governor, expressing confidence that continuity of his administration would consolidate ongoing projects and further accelerate development across the state.
