All Progressives Congress (APC) has been winning all elective positions in Kwara State since 2019, state party Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, has said.

He urged contestants in the 2027 elections to work  for the party’s victory at the polls.

Fagbemi said this yesterday in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, during the submission of letter of intent by a governorship aspirant, Dr Azeez Olaniyi.

Said Fagbemi: “Please as you go about convincing people about your qualities and capabilities, don’t talk about other aspirants. Talk about yourself and how APC will win easily across levels. We have been winning, we don’t want an anti-climax.

“I want you to take it in your strides that others are looking for what you are eying. All we care about here is success for APC. We pray that God will give the ticket to the best among you.

“The spirit you are bringing here is that of hope. I believe people should not be pessimistic, but at the same time, it is not very good to be an incurable optimist. Your coming here this morning and even giving hope to the party structure is a new dimension.”

Speaking with reporters after submitting his intention letter, Olaniyi said the rat race for the APC ticket showed all the governorship aspirants were ready to render their services to their beloved state.

Olaniyi, the Global President of Offa Descendants Union (ODU), added: “Every aspirant has what he wants to offer. It is now left for the state to decide the best, considering their past records and antecedents.

“The rat race for the ticket is a good thing. This  shows the beauty of democracy. It will enable the electorate to pick the best.”
