Political stakeholders in Enugu West Senatorial District have declared support for President Bola Tinubu and Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, for their re-election bids in 2027.

The endorsement will be announced at a mega endorsement rally on April 18 in Enugu state.

The rally, scheduled under the theme “Renewed Hope, Tomorrow Is Here,” is being described by organisers as a major political convergence of leaders, grassroots groups and key institutions across the senatorial district.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Subcommittee, Emeka Aneke, the event is designed to project a unified voice of support cutting across political structures, traditional institutions, youth organisations and women groups in the district.

Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Dr. C.O.C. Egumgbe, described the rally as a defining political moment for Enugu West.

He said, “This rally is a historic convergence of leadership and grassroots will. It is a bold affirmation of confidence in leadership that delivers results, and a clear commitment to continuity, stability, and accelerated progress.”

The statement said the event will feature goodwill messages from key stakeholders, including the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers and party leaders.

A formal endorsement ceremony will be presided over by the Senator representing Enugu West, Senator Osita Ngwu, who will serve as Presiding Officer Pro Tempore.

Representatives of major political and socio-institutional blocs are expected to ratify the endorsement following consultations and consensus-building across the district.

The rally is expected to end with what organisers described as a binding declaration of support for President Tinubu and Governor Mbah for a second term in office.

Governor Mbah is also expected to deliver a keynote address, where he will outline his administration’s priorities on economic growth, infrastructure development and inclusive governance.

The statement said the rally signals Enugu West’s growing political influence and its role in shaping the broader political direction of Enugu State and the country.

“This is not just an endorsement—it is a mandate backed by the full weight of the people,” the statement added.
