The Chairperson of Epe Local Government Council Area of Lagos State, Princess Surah Animashaun, has said her administration would collaborate with the Nigerian Navy to ensure the protection of lives and property of residents of the council area.

Princess Animashaun stated this when she received the newly appointed Commander of the Nigerian Navy, Naval Base Epe, Captain L. D. Deyin, who visited her office at Ita-Marun, Epe.

She said that the visit marked an important step toward strengthening the existing collaboration between the council and the Nigerian Navy in maintaining peace, security, and stability across Epe and its environs.

“Indeed, the local government council area remained an essential part of Nigeria and Lagos State and all efforts will be geared towards making the inhabitants of the council feel a sense of belonging, so, we will do our best to provide security for them through the collaboration with the security agencies,” Princess Animashaun said.

She congratulated Captain Deyin on his new appointment and expressed confidence in his leadership and dedication to duty, reaffirming the council’s commitment to maintaining a strong working relationship with security agencies, particularly the Nigerian Navy, in ensuring the safety of lives and property within the Epe division.

Captain Deyin appreciated the council chief for the warm reception and assured the Local Government of the Navy’s continued partnership and readiness to support efforts aimed at strengthening security, peace, and stability within the area.

He said: “The visit is a mutual assurance of collaboration and a shared commitment to promoting a secure and prosperous environment for residents of Epe and its surrounding communities.”

It should be recalled that Captain Deyin was recently assumed office as the new Commander of the Naval Base in Epe and was accompanied to visit the council with key officers of the base, which includ the Base Operation Officer, Lieutenant A. S. Bello, the Base Logistic Officer, Lieutenant P. E. Miyantong, the Base Intelligence Officer, Lieutenant C. K. Ndubisi, and the Base Naval Assistant, Sub‑Lieutenant E. J. Edojie.
