Liam Rosenior’s perfect start as Chelsea head coach came to a halt as the Blues surrendered a two-goal advantage in a dramatic 2-2 draw with Leeds United at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea looked in control after taking a two-goal lead through strikes from Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer, with the goals arriving either side of half-time. However, the hosts unravelled in the closing stages, allowing Leeds back into the contest through a mix of indiscipline and defensive chaos.

Leeds reduced the deficit after Moises Caicedo conceded a penalty by bringing down Jayden Bogle in the box, and Lukas Nmecha made no mistake from the spot to make it 2-1. The equaliser followed soon after, with Chelsea failing to deal with a ball over the top as Josh Acheampong, Malo Gusto and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez all missed their clearances, leaving Noah Okafor to poke home the leveller.

Despite dropping points, Chelsea could still finish the night in the Premier League’s top four, depending on Manchester United’s result away at West Ham in the later kick-off. For Leeds, the point was significant as they climbed above Tottenham into 15th place, moving six points clear of the relegation zone.
