Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Tunde Lemo, has commended President Bola Tinubu for supporting the full realisation and commissioning of the Gateway International Cargo Airport in Ogun State.
Lemo, who mobilised supporters to receive the President at the airport complex, praised Tinubu’s role in bringing the project to fruition, describing it as a major boost to Ogun State’s economy and the country at large.
The former banker, who recently declared his governorship ambition on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), spoke shortly after the commissioning.
He also lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for what he described as “visionary leadership,” while acknowledging previous administrations for laying the groundwork for the project’s completion.
“This project represents progress, opportunity, and a new economic pathway for our people. It will create jobs, boost commerce, and position Ogun as a strategic hub for investment.

“Governor Dapo Abiodun deserves commendation for his commitment to legacy infrastructure. We must also recognise the contributions of past leaders whose foundations have made these strides achievable,” Lemo said.
He further described Tinubu’s economic reforms as bold but necessary, expressing confidence in their long-term impact.
“Mr. President’s reform agenda requires courage and consistency. I remain fully supportive of efforts aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and prosperity,” he stated.
He concluded by thanking supporters and residents of Ogun State for their orderly conduct during the President’s visit.
“I sincerely appreciate our supporters and the good people of Ogun State for their peaceful and respectful conduct. Your cooperation reflects the true character of our state,” he said.
