A Two-Time commissioner and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Alimosho Federal Constituency, Pharm(Mrs) Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf has declared her intention to contest the Alimosho Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 election.

Akinbile-Yussuf, who served at various times as commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Wealth Creation and Employment, Home Affairs and Tourism, Arts and Culture between 2015 and 2023, disclosed her interest in the seat at the lower chamber shortly after she rounded off strategic consultations with the leaders and critical stakeholders of the APC in the Alimosho Federal Constituency, a few days ago.

She explained that she decided to join the race to further canvass for socio-economic interventions by the federal government that could guarantee a better life for residents of Alimosho Federal Constituency, Lagos.

''I am confident that the APC primaries will be free, fair, and credible, and I trust that the will of the people shall prevail in selecting a candidate who truly represents their aspirations. If allowed to serve, I will champion purposeful representation anchored on youth empowerment and liberation, infrastructure development, women empowerment and inclusion, and sustainable community engagement. My resolve is to deliver impactful and people-oriented representation that reflects the yearnings of our constituents.

''If elected, the people of Alimosho can be assured of even greater impact, inclusive representation, and responsive leadership,'' she said.

She explained that her strides as a public office holder have fired her interests in canvassing for a better life for residents of Alimosho.

''As a former Commissioner in Lagos State for eight years, I have facilitated numerous developmental projects across Alimosho Federal Constituency. These include, but are not limited to the Abesan Youth Centre, Okunola, key road infrastructure projects across the constituency, the Igando Theatre, and several community-based interventions

‘'Through the Moremi Goodwill Project, I have also directly impacted lives by providing financial support and soft loans for small businesses, empowerment programmes for women and youths, educational support initiatives, grading of several roads within Agbado-Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), healthcare outreach and welfare interventions, skills acquisition and capacity-building programmes. These efforts reflect my longstanding commitment to grassroots development and social uplift.''
