Former Secretary to Osun State Government (SSG), Mr. Moshood Adeoti, has announced move to Accord Party, declaring his support for Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

Adeoti had withdrawn his allegiance to Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and left African Democratic Congress (ADC) after purported decision that the party had handed its 2026 governorship ticket to former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Najeem Salam.

Later, he said he was taking a short rest from politics, carrying his family members along in his decision.

Yesterday, Adeoti formally declared his support for the second term ambition of Governor Adeleke and officially aligned with the Accord Party, together with thousands of his supporters across the state.

The ex-SSG during a town hall meeting he convened in Osogbo, said the endorsement followed extensive consultations with his followers and stakeholders statewide.

He said the collective decision to support Governor Adeleke was driven by what he described as the visible transformation and developmental progress recorded in Osun State over the past three years.

He said the current leadership in the state remained connected to the people, noting that those in government were home-based and lived among the citizens they served.

At the meeting, one of his supporters, Kehinde Morenikeji, moved a formal motion for Adeoti and his other supporters to join the Accord Party, while the motion was seconded by Kehinde Ogaala and unanimously adopted by all in attendance.
