The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed three Paradise estates in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) because the developers failed to hand over houses to buyers who had completed payment.

Marvin Nadah, the Deputy Director of Surveillance and Investigation, disclosed this while addressing journalists during an enforcement operation in Abuja. He noted that the commission had received numerous complaints from affected subscribers.

According to him, the estates failed to comply despite repeated directives to the developers to release the properties to the rightful owners.

He explained that the action was taken following the developers’ refusal to honour compliance notices issued under Section 150 of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2018.

Nadah said the commission issued a notice on February 24, 2026, directing the developers to hand over the houses within seven days, but the directive was ignored.

He added that many affected buyers had completed payment for the properties over three years ago, yet had not taken possession.

The FCCPC assured the public of its commitment to protecting consumers, warning that it would not tolerate exploitation, misrepresentation, or unfair practices by companies.

The commission noted that similar complaints exist against other real estate developers, and it will take appropriate action as investigations progress.
